SEIBU, renowned Japanese exclusive department store, is now located in Jakarta – presented by PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP) which is SEIBU Indonesia official licensee. Located in the center of Jakarta, SEIBU has 5 floors on 27.000 sqm. SEIBU is ready to open on May 9th, 2007.

Founded in 1949, SEIBU is now regarded as the ultimate fashion experience, with the best selection of beauty, fashion, food, and home brands in Japan. In Asia, SEIBU currently operates 18 stores in Japan, 3 stores in Hong Kong and 3 stores in China. SEIBU Indonesia is the only location in South East Asia.

SEIBU is located adjacent to the six star hotel managed by Kempinski, facing Bundaran HI. There are two main entrances at street level, located on the north and east sides of the building. The Ground Floor shop frontage is 32 sqm on the north side, and 16 sqm on the east. This magnificent exposure and visibility, together with the prominent access points, will create an unparalleled focus for luxury retailing in Asia.

Each department and floor are designed to be different, unique and exclusive, with the aim of giving an unforgettable shopping experience. To make sure that SEIBU can be the new icon for the most exciting and prestigious department store in a location, SEIBU’s interior specifically & exclusively designed by Callison, the world number one retail design firm (World Architecture, Jan 2005), plans and designs retail, mixed-use, and corporate projects worldwide. Seattle-based Callison is one of the largest architectural design firms in the United States. Nordstorm, Microsoft, Harrods, FedEx, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worlwide, Boeing, Hewlett-Packard, Intrawest, Nike, Cole Haan and SOGO & SEIBU Departement Store of Japan are all clients of Callison.

Callison’s masterpiece of SEIBU Grand Indonesia is truly a work of art. Callison formulated the strategies behind SEIBU’s reinvented brand; designing all interior elements and the streescape, as well as the visual merchandising. With next techniques, the choice of colours, displays, and the feel of each department and floor are fully integrated with the range of merchandise. SEIBU’s architectural strategies and retail merchandising invite, engage, entertain consumers, persuading them to return. Materials are layered for rich, nature-inspired patterning, translucency and luminosity.
At SEIBU, each floor has its own theme, that’s why every floor has its own world (one floor, one world concept). SEIBU has not only international brands, but also Indonesian brands. SEIBU give a stage of showcase for Indonesian designers to display their masterpiece.
